“SPECTRUM OF LIGHT”
Colour is one of the elemental entities of visual art. It is properly defined as the property possessed by an object producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way an object reflects or emits light.
I believe we introspectively perceive colour subjectively given that it is a very intimate, sensual and personal phenomenon, provoking sensibility and emotion, as well as impression and expression.
Through colour I attempt to capture the essence of the material world, so that each painting celebrates not the tangibility of existence, but the unconscious underlying actuality which is embedded in the spirit of existence and experience.
These paintings pay homage to colour itself as well as harnessing the spontaneous suspension of time. This body of work documents the execution and action of painting and my own creative art making process.
These pieces are not intended to present an accurate depiction or draw a narrative. The seminal primary intent is to celebrate the origins of colour transcendently through the “Spectrum of Light”.
