Patrick Heron was an English artist born in Headingley, Leeds 1920.
Heron was not only a painter but he also published many art criticisms, writings and essays.
He has been labeled and defined as an abstractionist, as well as a figurative non-representational painter. In reality Patrick Heron absorbs the essence and the spirit of existence itself. His work goes beyond the grounds of formalism, in a sense he created inventively in an unusual, and unique manner. His work is the genuine life-blood of actuality, and vitality.
The crux and the soul of his Herons pieces hovers between the realm of intimate and familiar, and the domain of what we except as extraordinary rare.
Patrick Heron passed away on March 20, 1999 in Zennor, Cornwell, England. He was and still is a wondrous influence. As an artist I connect with his work on a myriad of levels, both formally, and beyond the material boundaries that frame our time based existence.
